This is the tab for general info about the task. Only those fields are shown that you have selected to register for your tasks in the Options|Fields tab page. At the top of the tab, information about the task is shown.
Title Enter a descriptive title for the task. For instance "Buy new suitcase" or "Pick up laundry". You can enter up to 250 characters. Use the spin buttons to the right of the input box to adjust the font size from minimum 8 points up to 24 points.
It is possible to include substitution strings in the text, for example:
"Pick up laundry on %DUEDATE%"
When the title is displayed, this will be displayed as:
"Pick up laundry on 11/02/2007"
.. where the date is the value for the task's due date.
Note that when a template task is displayed, the substitution string will be shown in its original form, like "%DUEDATE%".
Notes Enter notes for the task. Please observe that this field is only displayed if you have selected to use notes for your tasks, in the Options|Fields tab page. You can enter up to 5000 characters. It is possible to include substitution strings in the text, like %DUEDATE% (see above for Title).
Status Assign a status for the task. These different status values are predefined:
- Created - Working - Waiting - Put on Hold - Completed
New tasks are automatically assigned the a default status, which you set in the Options|Defaults tab page. The default status for new tasks is "Created", but you can change this to for example "Opened".
Priority Set a priority for the task:
- Low - Medium - High - Urgent
New tasks are automatically assigned the default priority, which you set in the options dialog. The priority list is only displayed when you have selected to use priority for your tasks.
Category Select a suitable category for the task. New tasks are automatically assigned the default category, which you set in the options dialog. The category list is only displayed when you have selected to use categories for your tasks.
Resource Select a suitable resource for the task. New tasks are automatically assigned the default resource, which you select in the options dialog. The resource list is only displayed when you have selected to use resources for your tasks.
Type Select a suitable type for the task. New tasks are automatically assigned the default type, which you select in the options dialog. The type list is only displayed when you have selected to use types for your tasks.
Set due date/time Mark this checkbox to set a date/time for when the task is due.
Date/time when the task is due Select the date/time when the task is due. New tasks are automatically set to a date/time according to the default time range, which you can set in the options dialog. These fields are only displayed if you have selected to use due date and time for your tasks. The fields are only enabled if you check the "Set due date/time" option (see above).
Percent completed Select a percentage value between 0-100% (rounded to the nearest 5%). This fields is only displayed if you have selected to use percent for your tasks.
Flag Mark this checkbox if you want to set a "flag" for the task. For instance, set a flag for those tasks that you intend to complete during the current week. You can then use the filtering capability to only display those tasks that are flagged.
