Easy To-Do - How to get started
When starting Easy To-Do for the first time, the screen is empty and the default settings are used. There are no To-Do tasks registered, so the initial list view is empty.

First let us create a couple of categories for our tasks.
Select Actions|Edit Categories from the main menu or simply press F6:

Press the Add button to enter a suitable name for the first category, for example “Home” in the text field to the right. Select a matching image from the left combo box and then press OK. Continue with adding a category called “Work”. When finished, click the Close button in the first dialog box. There are now two categories to use. You can at any time return to this dialog to create, rename or delete categories.
Now it is time to create the first task. Press the Add Task button or simply press F4. This opens the dialog for creating tasks. This dialog will look slightly different depending on which fields that you actually use. For example, if you do not care to assign a priority to your tasks, the combo box for selecting a priority will be hidden. In this way, you only see the relevant fields for you.
The dialog consists of tab pages. The first tab page is always visible and contains the general fields for the task.

General tab page
First, enter a suitable title for the task, for example “Pick up laundry”. If you would press Enter immediately, the task is saved and the dialog closed. But you most often will want to add other information to the task, perhaps a comment, or a due date, or select a category.
Select the Reminder tab if you want to set a reminder for your task. For a reminder, select a
combination of beep, sound and speech. If you select sound, also choose a file (WAV file or other) that
is activated when the reminder is given. If you select speech, the title is read out when the reminder
is given. For this to work, you must have MS SAPI 5.1 installed on your system.

On the Link tab you can specify a file that will be associated with the task. From the To-Do list, you can double-click on the link icon to open the file.

Link tab page
The Recurring tab page is used when you want to create a recurring task.
Select Actions|Create Template from the main menu. A recurring task will occur
repeatedly. You create a template for the task, and Easy To-Do will automatically create new tasks
according to the conditions you give. For example, create a task that will repeat itself every week, on a Friday.
Or create a monthly task, which will be due every 27th day in the month.

When you are done entering information about the task, click OK to save and leave the dialog.
